Emily has been teaching yoga for over 7 years. She has always had a passion for children and movement. After having her daughter, she saw the need for yoga at the youngest of ages.  She, soon after, attended children's yoga teacher training through Little Guru Kids Yoga in Raleigh, NC and began teaching children of all ages.

Emily's classes are energetic yet grounded to balance the special spirit that kids bring and the calming energy that mindfulness provides.

Melissa Schwartz, RYT 200, rpyt-85

prenatal & baby + me yoga teacher

Melissa first started practicing yoga in 2007 while in college, and fell in love with the way that practicing yoga allowed her to silence her mind and reconnect with herself. When she moved to Chapel Hill in 2015, she started consistently doing yoga and quickly discovered how necessary yoga was in preserving my mental, emotional, and physical health. She wanted to help others experience the serenity she did while practicing yoga, and completed Carolina Yoga Company’s 200-hour YTT, along with their Whole Mama Yoga 85-hour Prenatal YTT. In Melissa's classes, she creates an encouraging environment where students can find their own mental, emotional, and physical balance so that they can bring  harmony into their daily lives.

RJ Lisander, RYT 500

RJ Lisander took her first yoga class 16 years ago and immediately fell in love with the positive changes she notice on and off the mat. This love led to 200-hr Prana Vinyasa Flow certification at Evolve Movement in Raleigh, NC, a 300-hr Yoga Therapy certification through Kripalu and a new career. Spanning the past six years, RJ has deepened her knowledge of yoga, meditation and mindfulness with additional trainings in releasing personal trauma, yoga nidra (guided meditation), pre-and post-natal training, and recently completed professional DOULA training with DONA International.

Known as "Aunt Nay" to family and the children of close friends, RJ approaches mindfulness and yoga for kids with a sense of openness, curiosity and joy to create a safe space for exploration, deeper personal understanding and creative expression.
